With Clemson and Miami on bye weeks, there wasn't much movement for the ACC in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, as the conference still has three ranked teams: No. 3 Clemson, No. 8 Florida State and No. 16 Miami.
Georgia Tech (17 votes) and Virginia Tech (3 votes) are both on the outside looking in, but the Yellow Jackets have a legitimate chance to be the next team in for the conference if they can survive the next few weeks. It's surprising the Hokies are even being considered as a Top 25 team right now, considering how much they have struggled offensively, and the special teams woes continued in the 15-10 win at ECU.
The ACC is in a great spot right now in the poll, and it should maintain that over the next few weeks, as all three ranked teams should be favored in their respective games. Miami has the toughest task, with Georgia Tech on the schedule on Oct. 5, but the Canes don't even have to leave their home state until Oct. 17 at North Carolina.
One more team that can sneak into the rankings: Maryland. There's no reason the Terps can't beat West Virginia this weekend and start out 4-0. Depending upon what happens elsewhere in the country, don't count the Terps out -- even if their record might be better than they truly are.
