Defensive tackle, a position of strength and depth for the Seminoles over the last couple of years, will need to be restocked with talent in the class of 2014. NoleNation looks at five prospects Florida State will look at signing during the next cycle.
Demarcus Christmas -- Christmas, a prospect who figures to be one of the best in the entire country in his class, has already committed to Florida State out of powerhouse Manatee High School. At 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, Christmas looks more like a college student-athlete now than a prep standout. The Seminoles did well to secure a commitment from him early in the process, capitalizing on their early momentum within his recruitment.
Travonte Valentine -- Valentine, a Florida Gators commitment, will likely stay on the radar for a while. He's already made one decommitment (from Louisville) and Florida State would like to make it a second one. Valentine camped at Florida State over the summer and appeared very interested in the Seminoles prior to his decision to pledge to Florida. Make no mistake, though, Valentine will be hard to pull away from UF.
Elisha Shaw -- The ESPN Watch List member already has offers from three elite defensive programs in Alabama, Florida State and Georgia. He's big and physical, checking in at 6-5, 292 as a junior. Shaw is in the conversation as one of the top five players in the state of Georgia already. Like Christmas, he is physically advanced enough already to play college ball and already commands double teams on Friday nights.
Kendall Baker -- Even though he's coming off an ACL injury, Baker still got offers from both Florida State and Vanderbilt, indicating their is plenty of room for improvement down the road. He's got a great frame at 6-5, and if he proves to be healthy, his offer list could explode. From Florida State's coaching staff, Baker deals with coaches Dameyune Craig and D.J. Eliot.
Khairi Clark -- Clark is one of three defensive tackles Florida State has offered within the state. At 6-3, 311, Clark is sizable on the interior and would likely eat up space at the next level. He already has offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He is a current teammate of FSU's 2013 defensive back commitment Adrian Baker.
