Marquez White (Dothan, Ala./Northview), and his family, got the vibe they were looking for.
The four-star Florida State commitment took his parents down to Tallahassee, Fla., over the weekend to show them why he wanted to be a Seminole. Afterwards, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback said he will be signing with FSU when it comes time to put pen to paper.
"They fell in love with it when they got there," he explained. "They have the same feelings about it as I do. So now I have made that decision and it is behind me."
It wasn't so much that White's family had questions. Actually, they had more to say than the coaches did in their efforts to get familiar with the staff.
"They were practicing out there so we had all the coaches there," White said.
The family's priority placed on education demanded a tour of the academic structures and other guidance information. White believes they came away impressed.
"They really liked it," he said. "They liked the benefits of the education there. It seems like a real family environment."
With his senior season right around the corner, White is turning his focus towards leading his team into the playoffs.
Later in November, he will take an official visit for the Seminoles' regular-season finale.
"I think I am going to go to the Florida game," he said.
White is ranked by ESPN as the No. 34 cornerback in the country for the class of 2013.
