2014 catcher Bret Maxwell set on FSU

Bret Maxwell went up to Tallahassee for Florida State's baseball camp with some degree of familiarity, but without an offer.

The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northeast backstop had put himself on the coaching staff's radar previously, and perhaps with a strong showing, could earn himself a spot. And, well, he must have done something right.

"I came up for an unofficial visit and met Coach Martin Jr. and Coach Martin," Maxwell said. "So I went into camp with them already knowing me, they saw me play at the camp and I got offered, I guess."
