Jake McCrary (Miami/Coral Reef) continued Florida State's success in the rising junior and sophomore classes.
The 2014 wide receiver gave his verbal commitment to the Seminoles coaching staff on Friday, a day after 2014 athlete Jojo Robinson (Miami, Fla./Miami Northwestern) and hours after 2015 quarterback DeAndre Johnson (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast).
McCrary and Johnson attended this week's Jimbo Fisher Camp.
"I was up there for the camp for the last couple of days," McCrary said. "I really liked the coaches and I had to sit down with the players and learn about it from them and their decision for going to FSU.
"I think FSU is the school for me and that is the best opportunity for me to go in right away and make an impact. I am just very excited for my commitment. I am a Nole, baby; I like it."
McCrary held offers from Clemson, Florida, Kansas State, Marshall and USF in addition to Florida State.
So when he told the Seminoles staff that he plans to come to Tallahassee, he got a positive reaction.
"Coach Coley, that is the first person that I called and talked to," said McCrary. "He was very excited. He was the one that was recruiting me hard. He was very excited about it and he wants me to come back up and be around Jimbo and all the other coaches and chill with them."
At this point in the summer most prospects are nearing the end of their visits. But McCrary has at least two more stops scheduled.
"I am going to Friday Night Lights at Florida because they are still in the hunt," he said. "FSU, they have my heart, but those schools are still in the hunt because you never know what could happen in the next two years. So I am going to Florida and then I am going to Clemson."
