TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State landed a 2014 commitment Thursday during the middle session of the Jimbo Fisher Camp, but it wasn't from anyone in attendance.
Joseph Robinson (Miami, Fla./Miami Northwestern), better known as "Jojo," became the Seminoles' third commit for the class.
"I wanted to stay in Florida," Robinson said of his reasoning to commit. "I loved the atmosphere at Florida State. I love that program. I took a visit there and I loved it while I was there, and that is why I decided to commit."
Assistant coach Eddie Gran, Robinson's primary recruiter, played a big role in luring him to Tallahassee.
"I love Coach Gran," Robinson mentioned. "He is always around. We have kept in contact for a long time, ever since I went up there last year. We have been close since."
Robinson will be looked upon to be a major contributor for Northwestern this fall, and could project as a running back, receiver or possibly cornerback at the next level. He joins Joseph Yearby (Miami/Central) and J.C. Jackson (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee) to give the Seminoles three commitments in the 2014 class.
Expected to be an early enrollee, Robinson said he is not sure when he will make his next trip to Tallahassee, but he maintains his commitment is solid.
"Oh yeah," he said. "I feel great. I am excited."
