DUNCANVILLE, Texas -- Speed might best define ESPN Watch List wide receiver K.D. Cannon (Mount Pleasant, Texas/Mount Pleasant). His hands might be a close second. His outstanding 4.37-second 40-yard dash time and his 104 catches for 1,597 yards and 25 touchdowns support that.
What Cannon has been recently working on is how to overcome size mismatches against larger defenders in the secondary. At 6-foot-0 and 170 pounds, he knows that at the next level he will go up against cornerbacks and safeties who are 15 or 20 pounds heavier -- and just as quick.

Streeter Lecka/Getty ImagesAlabama, with three of the past four national titles, is No. 1 in the Way-Too-Early Top 25 for 2013.There are still seven months before the start of the 2013 season, and the teams and their order figure to change frequently, but it's never too early to take a look at the Way-Too-Early Top 25 for 2013.
With three national championships in the past four years, there's no reason to change the team that's on top. Florida State, with some rebuilding on the way and a new quarterback to break in, is No. 16.

ESPN 150 wide receiver Jordan Cunningham (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./University School of Nova Southeast) is hardly a backup plan, though. Being the No. 59 prospect in the country, he's proved himself to be a quality prospect.
And it seems he's warm to Florida State despite running backs coach Eddie Gran's departure to Cincinnati, as well as Vanderbilt.

ESPN 300 wide receiver Eldridge Massington (Mesquite, Texas/West Mesquite) is a free agent again.
After discussing his recruiting situation with his parents and his recruiting coordinator, Massington decided Tuesday that he will decommit from USC and reopen his process. Ranked No. 167 in the ESPN 300, Massington said he’s open to all programs that are still interested in him.
Committed to USC since May 4, Massington tore the ACL in his left knee at a Tennessee camp he attended with West Mesquite teammates in July. In August, Massington said USC still would honor his scholarship, and he made public that he would graduate high school early in an effort to arrive in Los Angeles for further rehabilitation on his knee.

New York is a basketball city, but in the small borough of Staten Island, football is on the rise. In the 2013 class, that is due in large part to a handful of talented prospects, including dynamic receiver Malique Belfort (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville).
Through eight games, Belfort has 45 catches for 830 yards and nine touchdowns while rarely playing all four quarters. Major BCS programs have taken notice, and he holds offers from 14 schools with Arizona State, Michigan State and Penn State among them.
A handful of programs continue to show interest, including Florida State, which recently offered his teammate Augustus Edwards, a running back committed to Syracuse.
