A look at five players who turned heads on Friday in Florida's Friday Night Lights camp:

2015 WR Deon Cain (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Bay Tech)
6-foot-2, 175 pounds
ESPN Junior 300 rank: NR

Cain entered FNL as a relatively unknown prospect. He plays quarterback in high school and his athleticism alone has earned him offers from Florida State and USF. Cain was extremely impressive and arguably was the most fluid receiver at the camp, a group that included Travis Rudolph. The talented athlete caught just about everything thrown his way and his route-running was surprisingly good considering his experience at the position. He will certainly be a player to watch next year.

2015 LB Byron Cowart (Seffner, Fla./Armwood)
6-3, 248
ESPN Junior 300 rank: 90

Cowart named Florida his leader after an impressive camp. With his size and athleticism, Cowart could play a few different positions, but the buck position is where Florida likes the junior-to-be. Cowart did well in one-on-one matchups and is deceptively agile for a player who plays mostly with his hand in the dirt in high school. It looks like the Gators have a great shot to land this talented defensive end.

2015 QB Lorenzo Nunez (Kennesaw, Ga./Harrison)
6-2, 184
ESPN Junior 300 rank: 199

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Class of 2014 safety Quincy Wilson won’t be announcing his decision until the first week of August, but he has narrowed his list of schools to Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina and USC.

The 6-foot-1, 197-pound standout from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School of Nova South -- whom ESPN ranks as the No. 12 safety in the country -- made that announcement after participating in Florida’s Friday Night Lights one-day camp. Wilson said he had a good time at Florida Field and spent a lot of time with UF commits Will Grier (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day), J.C. Jackson (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee), Dalvin Cook (Miami Central), and Duke Dawson (Cross City, Fla./Dixie County) as well as fellow uncommitted recruit Adoree' Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra), the nation’s No. 5 overall player and No. 2 cornerback.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Hunter Dale (River Ridge, La./John Curtis) was a freshman when Florida first took an interest, so it's no wonder the Gators are often on the junior safety's mind.

The 2015 prospect, ranked No. 221 in the ESPN Junior 300, visited Florida for the third time to participate in the annual Friday Night Lights camp.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Florida football program has spent time in the last few weeks trying to erase the memory of former tight end Aaron Hernandez, the All-American who was charged with murder last month. But the subject still came up at the Gators' premier recruiting showcase, Friday Night Lights.

Devonaire Clarington (Miami/Westminster Christian), the nation's top tight end prospect in the Class of 2015, had heard the latest buzz -- none of it good -- but said he doesn't believe it puts a stain on Florida.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida coaching staff is pursuing class of 2015 outside linebacker Jeffrey Holland pretty hard, but that’s nothing compared to how hard he’s being courted by a couple of Gators players.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- ESPN Junior 300 defensive end Byron Cowart (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) named Florida his leader after the Gators held their annual Friday Night Lights camp.

The 6-foot-3, 248-pound athlete said he enjoyed spending time with other 2015 Florida targets CeCe Jefferson (Glen St. Mary, Fla./Baker Co.) and Sherrod Pittman (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast).

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback commit Will Grier's top priority during Friday Night Lights was to try and persuade several uncommitted players to make the Gators their choice, too.

But the country’s third-ranked dual-threat quarterback prospect felt his verbal pitch wouldn’t be enough, so he participated in the one-night workout at Florida Field. It was his way of backing up his words.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The nation's No. 5-ranked player, Adoree' Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra), did not work out at Florida's Friday Night Lights camp, but the five-star athlete received more attention than any other player in attendance.

The 5-foot-10, 182-pound prospect, who will be staying in Gainesville until Sunday, said that he enjoyed his first visit to The Swamp.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- CeCe Jefferson isn't ready to commit yet, but the ESPN Junior 300 defensive end has at least named a leader.

Jefferson has put Florida top his list and said he plans on being on campus a lot during the season. But the Glen St. Mary (Fla.) Baker County standout says he's still going to take some trips elsewhere before making his decision.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida received its fourth commitment in the last three days, as ESPN Junior 300 wide receiver Da'Vante Phillips (Miami/Central) gave his pledge to Florida head coach Will Muschamp after Florida's Friday Night Lights camp.

The 6-foot-1, 189-pound athlete chose the Gators over offers from Miami, Florida State, Alabama and Clemson.

Phillips, the No. 11-ranked player in the country and top-rated receiver for 2015, said he chose Florida because of the atmosphere and also because of his Central teammate and 2014 Florida running back commit Dalvin Cook.

"It just feels like home," Phillips said. "I just liked everything about it and the atmosphere with the lights on. Dalvin was a big influence. Every day, he sends me messages. Any way he can get to me, he always is doing stuff."

Phillips said Muschamp was excited to learn of his commitment.

"He was happy. He was very excited," Phillips said. "I already knew he wanted me to be a Gator when I got here, so he was excited."

The hometown Hurricanes have always been near the top of his list, but Phillips said right now Florida is where he wants to be.

"I don't know," he said when asked about Miami. "Right now the Gators are on my mind."

In his ESPN scouting report, Phillips is compared to a wide receiver who enjoyed tremendous success on the college level:

"[Phillips] is a strong, physical player -- a Dez Bryant type. A versatile, big-play receiver with good size, competitiveness and athleticism. Possesses a good frame and playing strength for the wide receiver position and should continue to fill out and develop functional strength. Flashes good playing speed and foot quickness needed to separate as a route runner. Catches the ball extremely well and does a good job of turning upfield after the catch.Being physical and exploding off the ball, and also blocking with power."

Phillips is Florida's first 2015 commitment.
