ESPN Junior 300 DE names UF his leader
By Michael DiRocco
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- CeCe Jefferson isn't ready to commit yet, but the ESPN Junior 300 defensive end has at least named a leader.
Jefferson has put Florida top his list and said he plans on being on campus a lot during the season. But the Glen St. Mary (Fla.) Baker County standout says he's still going to take some trips elsewhere before making his decision.
"Right now, they [UF] are up there," Jefferson said after participating in Florida's annual Friday Night Lights. "I don't have an official top five, but since I come here almost every day they're pretty high up in my rankings.
"I really don't visit any other places, so right now it's just Florida, but once I start getting out setting more places I'll let ya'll know if anything changes."
The 6-foot-3, 248-pound Jefferson, whom ESPN ranks 48th overall and the No. 6 defensive end, said he wants to camp at Florida State and also visit Alabama, South Carolina and Louisville. He said he plans on being at all of Florida's home games this season and making trips to Tallahassee for Seminole home games, too.
Jefferson said he got good feedback from UF's coaches on Friday.
"They were just telling me to keep doing good and my offer still stands here and they'd love to have me," he said.
