ESPN 300 WR Rudolph loves Bama visit
By Derek Tyson
BRADENTON, Fla. -- ESPN 300 wide receiver Travis Rudolph (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman) hauled in several impressive catches at the IMG 7v7 National Championships on Saturday.
Recently, the four-star prospect visited several schools including Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt and Auburn and came away impressed with each school he visited.
"Alabama, I loved it," Rudolph said. "I was highly impressed. I sat down with coach [Nick] Saban in his office, and he told me he was looking forward to getting me back on campus again.
"With Auburn, me and the coaching staff get along very well. Same with Georgia and Vanderbilt."
After decommitting from Miami back in March, Rudolph named Florida his leader. He has since backed off that statement but said the Gators remain near the top of his list.
"I'm pretty much wide open right now," he said. "There aren't any schools standing out. Florida is still up there, but there are no leaders or no favorites. I got to get on other campuses and see what they are like.
"I'm trying to get on Florida State, Tennessee and Ohio State campuses over the summer, and I'll probably be at Friday Night Lights at Florida."
Rudolph, who will announce his decision at the Under Armour All-America game in January, said he most likely will start to narrow things down at the end of July.
