Jamal Adams raves about Florida visit
By Damon Sayles
As he makes unofficial visits around the country, ESPN 150 defensive back Jamal Adams (Lewisville, Texas/Hebron) is all about one thing -- finding the right fit.
Ask Adams about Florida, and the “fit” gets high praise. In fact, the heavily recruited safety gave his visit to Gainesville, Fla., a strong 10.
“Honestly, it fits me,” Adams said. “The coaching staff is by far one of the top in the country that wants to win national titles.”
Adams had the chance to check out the campus and all of the athletic facilities. He also had a chance to spend some time with his godfather, Gators receivers coach Joker Phillips. Overall, the visit was memorable, one that will be tough to beat for other programs.
Adams called Florida’s facilities “SEC facilities,” and he has mentioned publicly that he has a strong interest in playing in the SEC. He also added that Florida’s strength and conditioning coaches are “by far the best.”
“It’s a great fit for me, one of my top schools,” Adams said. “I’m an SEC dude, and this is the top SEC program, hands down.”
Adams is hoping his next trip gives him the same feeling. He will visit Ole Miss on June 19.
