2015 RB Patrick stops by Florida State
By Corey Dowlar
BRADENTON, Fla. -- For the 2015 cycle, there isn't another prospect with more FBS offers than Jacques Patrick (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek). And Florida State was fortunate enough to have him on campus again recently.
Conversations with Jimbo Fisher and Jay Graham were among the highlights.
"I got to meet Coach Graham for the first time, so it was a good thing," he said. I got to talk to Coach Fisher."
The junior-to-be running back thought it important to meet the position coach he could be working with someday.
"He was just showing me how they do things at Florida State," Patrick said. "He was just talking about how he likes to have his backs develop over time and stuff. I liked him. He showed me how I could improve my game and be the best player that I can be and get me to the next level."
Holding roughly 30 offers already, Patrick has rivals Florida and Florida State near the top. But it isn't an insurmountable lead by any means.
"Those guys are at the top, but I am pretty open right now," he said.
A priority over the next few months will be to simplify things. It's unrealistic, he says, to consider every offer seriously going forward.
After a few visits, he'll condense his list so he can keep his focus a little more narrow.
"In the summer, I am going to visit some schools that I am not sure on, and after that, I want to kind of narrow it down because you can't visit everybody," Patrick said. "After the summer, I will probably narrow it down to like 15.
"In June, I am visiting Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State."
