Lane would like to see USC
By Corey Dowlar
BRADENTON, Fla. -- The nation's top receiver was on display at the IMG Academies over the weekend.
Ermon Lane (Homestead, Fla./Homestead) lived up to his billing throughout the 7-on-7 tournament, making plays all over the field and showing why he has an extensive offer list.
One new school of interest, USC, has made an impact with its recent offer.
"USC," Lane began. "They are a good school. They bring wide receivers to the draft.
"I haven't really researched them yet, but I am going to do it soon."
He might take some time to research some travel plans, too. Lane said that he expects to make it to Los Angeles one way or another, but most likely as an official visit down the road.
"Yeah, I am going to take an official visit there," he said.
This summer he'll be on the road at various camps and unofficial visits. Those dates and destinations aren't set yet, but they will be the next item on the agenda to figure out.
"I don't know which ones I will go to as of right now, but I am going to start planning them soon," he said.
USC, Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Miami (Fla.) figure to be among the major players for Lane. When it comes time to decide, Lane will be looking for a few specific things to base his decision on.
"I want to see what programs get receivers to the league, a good program and a good quarterback," he said. "I want to get a good connection with whoever is coming in. I don't really care about what kind of offense."
Lane is rated the No. 25 player in the newly-released ESPN 150.
