GatorNation: Weekend visitor preview

By Derek Tyson

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Gators picked up three commitments, Ahmad Fulwood, Tre Bell and Josh Outlaw, in last year's spring game. Two of the three, Outlaw and Bell, eventually signed elsewhere, but it catapulted the Gators in to the top of the recruiting rankings and paved the way for a very successful class.

This year, many big-time prospects are expected to be in attendance and Florida fans can only hope it brings similar success.

ESPN Watch List running backs Sony Michel (Plantation, Fla./American Heritage) and Dalvin Cook (Miami/Central) headline the list of expected prospects. This visit is important for Michel as he is set to make his announcement in mid-April. Another running back/fullback prospect Cortavious Givens (St. Petersburg, Fla./Admiral Farragut) will also be in attendance. Givens is hoping to earn a Florida offer.

Wide receiver Artavis Scott (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) and 2015 ATH teammate George Campbell will be making the trip to Gainesville to watch the Gators. Two other receivers, Trevon Lee (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) and Moral Stephens (Perry, Fla./Taylor County), will be in attendance as will defensive end Jacob Pugh (Tallahassee, Fla./Godby), offensive lineman David Sharpe (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence School) and defensive tackle Lamont Gaillard (Fayetville, N.C./Pine Forest), who will be making his second trip to Gainesville this spring.

Several prospects who are already committed to Florida will be in The Swamp on Saturday. Quarterback Will Grier (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day), offensive linemen Benjamin Knox (DeLand, Fla./DeLand) and Travaris Dorsey (Jacksonville, Fla./Raines), defensive back Duke Dawson (Cross City, Fla./Dixie Co.), wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson (Ft. Myers, Fla./Dunbar), and the most recent Florida commit, defensive tackle Anthony Moten (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), are expected to be at Florida's final spring practice.

In addition to Campbell, other 2015 prospects will be in attendance including ATH Jeffrey Holland (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian) and defensive end CeCe Jefferson (Macclenny, Fla./Baker Co.).
