ATH Chris Lammons adds two big offers
By Corey Dowlar
The offers keep rolling in for Chris Lammons (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Plantation).
Wednesday saw the 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete land not only Florida State in the morning, but Ohio State in the afternoon.
Of the Seminoles, Lammons said there is a certain degree of comfort with them being in-state.
"I was real excited about that," he said. "I mean, Florida State, like Miami, is a team that I grew up watching. I am happy, man. I feel kind of shocked."
Florida State lost just about all of their recruiters used to patrolling the South Florida area in the offseason, starting with James Coley and Eddie Gran. Now it looks like new assistant Sal Sunseri has begun to pick that role up.
"I heard from Coach Sunseri and I talked to coach Jimbo Fisher," Lammons said. "I think I will go up to a junior day, but not the one next weekend."
Ohio State, a team Lammons said he had a lot of interest in growing up, impressed him quite a bit. Having a tie with another player formerly of the area doesn't hurt, either.
"That was a big one," he said. "I have a friend of mine, Ryan Shazier, plays for them. He is doing some big things out there and he told me they were looking at me. I was shocked, man."
Florida also offered this weekend rounding out the triangle. All three - FSU, OSU and UF -- will get a close look.
"I will definitely visit," said Lammons. "I want to visit all the schools that offered me this week."
