Florida commit says he won't enroll early

By Michael DiRocco

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida’s list of early enrollees has decreased by one.

Offensive tackle Trenton Brown is finishing up a class at Georgia Military College and will enroll with the rest of the freshmen in the summer. The 6-foot-8, 350-pound Brown, No. 70 in the ESPN Junior College 100, confirmed his plans via a text message.

Brown was expected to compete with sophomore D.J. Humphries at left tackle during spring practice. Even if he didn’t beat out Humphries, the Gators’ lone five-star signee in 2012 who enrolled early and got a lot of playing time this past season, Brown was expected to see time in the Gators’ jumbo package.

A UF official said the school is not releasing the names of players who have enrolled early until the end of the drop/add period on Friday. However, DT Darious Cummings, DT Joey Ivie, LB Daniel McMillian, OT Tyler Moore, WR Demarcus Robinson, LB Matt Rolin and RB Kelvin Taylor have confirmed they have enrolled early.
