Robert Nkemdiche down to two programs
By Kipp Adams
Less than a week after saying Alabama and Florida were still in contention for his commitment, No. 1 ESPN 150 prospect Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) admitted he was only going to consider two programs.
"It is down to LSU and Ole Miss, and that is just something I wanted to do,” Nkemdiche said. “I narrowed it down to them so it would not be as hectic.”
The LSU Tigers have quietly been at or near the top for the 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive end for the past year, and had the elite pass rusher considering a commitment to LSU last summer before he chose Clemson just a few weeks later.
Now back on the market, Les Miles and his staff will have their work cut out for them as they try to top Ole Miss, where Nkemdiche’s brother Denzel plays linebacker.
“It would be hard to see myself not going to Ole Miss because it is a family thing,” Nkemdiche said last week. “My whole family wants me to go there. They are on the rise and doing a lot of good things."
Nkemdiche has yet to schedule official visits to the two SEC programs but hopes to have that done later this week.
