Florida recruiting notes: Ivie gets big offer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Dade City (Fla.) Pasco defensive tackle Joey Ivie has gone from a relatively unknown prospect to earning offers from the big three schools in Florida -- the Gators, Seminoles and Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-4, 271-pound tackle prospect, who visited Florida a few short weeks ago, said he was excited to finally receive an offer from the in-state Gators on Monday.

"It meant quite a bit," Ivie said. "It's a big offer, my family is happy. I'm not saying that's where I'm going, but I definitely think very highly of Florida."
