GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida defensive tackle Omar Hunter's career day against Kentucky earned the redshirt senior the SEC's Defensive Lineman of the Week award.
Hunter had eight tackles in the Gators' 38-0 rout of the Wildcats last Saturday. His previous career high was six tackles against Arkansas in 2009. Hunter is fourth on the team with 17 tackles.
"Omar continues to have a really good senior season," UF coach Will Muschamp said. "He played well [against Kentucky] and it was good to hear that he got the SEC Defensive Lineman Player of the Week. It was well deserved."
