CITRA, Fla. -- Cornerback Dominique Brown (Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic) will be one of the top defensive back prospects in the state of Florida next season.
The 5-foot-11, 183-pound prospect has already garnered offers from South Carolina and FIU, and the talented athlete thinks some other big offers are on the way.
"Florida State and Florida are about to pull the trigger," Brown said after his team's 27-24 loss to Citra (Fla.) North Marion on Friday night. "USF and Arkansas are also standing out a little bit, too. They are close to offering me as well."
Brown, who says he speaks with the Florida and Florida State coaching staffs regularly, talked to Florida defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson earlier in the week.
"I talked to coach T-Rob this week," he said. "I'll be up at the game on Saturday and they just want me to feel the experience and get ready to hopefully be able to play there and have a future there."
If Florida or Florida State decide to offer Brown, a decision might not be too far off.
"I might commit to Florida if they offer," Brown said. "I just love their speed. I think they are well coached. They are all about hard work, and that's what I like to do -- work hard."
In addition to visiting Florida on Saturday, Brown says he will likely attend games at Florida State and South Carolina this year.
