GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Four-star defensive end DeMarcus Walker (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood) has officially set his college decision date for Aug. 24 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPNU's first RecruitingNation show of the season.
The 6-foot-4, 271-pound athlete is the No. 24-ranked player in the country and will chose between Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and Clemson.
Walker talked about each of his favorite schools.
Alabama: "I've taken a few visits up there and spent time with my coach [Lance] Thompson, my position coach, and got to see them work and I really liked it up there."
Florida: "They recruit me hard. All the Florida commitments are always on me. I really trust coach [Will] Muschamp and coach [Dan] Quinn."
Auburn: "Oh man, I love Auburn with coach [Brian] Van Gorder and with coach [Gene] Chizik. I just like them so much, they seem like they are happy and stress-free and all that stuff."
Tennessee: "Me and coach Sal [Sunseri] have a real big bond. He's a real nice guy. When I have problems like if I'm down, I'll give coach Sal and he'll give me advice and some words of wisdom, and no matter what, he always has my back."
Clemson: "They were the first school to offer me. I like the coaches there and it's a nice school."
Walker, who will play in the Under Armrour All-America game, admits his decision may not be final and could take some official visits in the fall.
