GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Three-star tight end Jordan Davis (Thomson, Ga./Thomson) began his long weekend with a visit to Florida on Thursday. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound athlete will head to Athens (Ga.) to visit Georgia on Friday and could make his college decision by the end of the weekend.
Davis said he and his mother enjoyed his time in Gainesville.
"It went great," Davis said. "Everything went great. I enjoyed the whole thing. My mom was impressed. The whole thing was just great."
"We had a little depth-chart breakdown. They were showing me where I was needed and how they would use me. I got talk with Colin Thompson, he went on the tour with me and showed me his dorm and things like that. When I first got there I met Jordan Reed, he was in the workout room."
Davis recently named Florida and Georgia his two leaders. Though he was reluctant to name a leader between the two, he said the Gators have certainly made an impression on him.
"Florida is pretty high right now," Davis said. "I'd probably say that because I just left there, but depending on how tomorrow goes, I could make a decision by the end of this weekend -- like Saturday or Sunday.
"I like the things they stand for. They have rules, and I like how your scholarship is honored. What you see there is what you get. Everything is pretty much down to earth there."
Davis, who is planning to arrive at Georgia around 9:30 a.m., says that his comfort with the Georgia coaches is one of the reason he likes the Dawgs.
"I really like the facilities at Georgia, I'm excited to check them out again," Davis said. "I like coach [Mark] Richt and all of the Georgia coaches. This will be a tough decision."
In addition to Florida and Georgia, Davis has offers from Louisville and South Carolina.
