Yeguete to be evaluated for concussion

November, 17, 2011
Will Yeguete sat out Thursday’s 91-55 victory over North Florida with concussion-like symptoms, and Florida coach Billy Donovan said the junior forward will undergo testing on Friday.

Donovan said Yeguete was injured during the Gators’ loss at Ohio State on Tuesday night but felt good enough to return to the game. Yeguete had headaches on Wednesday and the medical staff held him out Thursday.

“He saw the doctor today [Thursday],” Donovan said. “I think we’re going to probably find out a lot more [Friday] when they do those concussion tests to see where he’s at. We’ve got to take [Friday] off so we’re not practicing. I’m hopeful to have him back Saturday but I’ll probably find that out some time [Friday].”

The 6-foot-7 Yeguete averaged 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in Florida’s first two games.
