GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Four-star defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. (St. Petersburg, Fla./Lakewood) took his official visit to Florida this weekend, and the Florida State verbal commit said he is still committed to the Noles. But the Florida visit gave him pause.

"It gives me gives me some things to think about," Fowler said, "but as far as switching my commitment, no it doesn’t give me anything to think about. I'm still committed to FSU. I'm going to do a hat pick on signing day between FSU, Florida and USC."

Fowler, who was hosted by Florida freshman safety De'Ante Saunders, said the highlight of his visit was just hanging out with the players and coaches.

"It was cool," Fowler said. "We got to hang out with Coach [Will] Muschamp and his family and the other coaches and their families. We got to hang out and just eat a lot."

Fowler said he spent most of his time with the other recruits who were on visits, such as Stefon Diggs, Matt Jones and Brian Poole, but he also spent some time with Florida recruits who have already enrolled.

"I feel like I fit in real well with those guys," Fowler said. "I know most of those guys, so it was pretty cool."

Fowler had a chance to sit down and talk with the Florida coaches while on his visit.

"They were telling me, if I went there, about how they would use me in their defense," he said. "They talked to me about the everyday life and stuff like that. They just talked to me about things that will happen when I get up there and stuff like that. So it was pretty cool."
