Gators No. 10 in USA Today preseason poll

August, 1, 2013

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Gators are starting this season where they finished last season.

The Gators are No. 10 in the USA Today preseason poll that was released at noon. UF finished the 2012 season 10th after an 11-2 season that culminated with a loss to Louisville in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Gators are one of five SEC teams in the top 10. The others are No. 1 Alabama, No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 7 South Carolina.

Florida returns only nine players who started at least five games last season. Only three are on defense. Quarterback Jeff Driskel is one of the remaining six, but he will miss at least the first two weeks of camp, which begins Friday, after undergoing an appendectomy on Tuesday.
