GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Arkansas wide receiver commit Courtney Gardner (Reno, Nev./Sierra College) has only been committed to the Razorbacks since Dec. 15, but he is still keeping his options open.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound receiver will officially visit Florida State this weekend and Florida on Jan. 20.
ESPN.com reported on Tuesday that former Boise State offensive coordinator Brent Pease will be named Florida’s new offensive coordinator on Wednesday. The reports didn’t take long to reach Gardner.
“Yeah, me and my boy were just talking about that,” Gardner said. “They didn’t have an offensive coordinator when they started recruiting me, but I heard that he’s an amazing coach.”
Does the hiring of Pease help Florida’s chances of landing the big receiver?
“Florida is a great school, I wouldn’t overlook them at all,” Gardner said. “It all will depend on how my visit down there goes.”
In addition to the Florida and Arkansas offers, Gardner also holds offers from Oklahoma, Auburn, FSU and Cal.
