Despite a Twitter posting to the contrary this weekend, ESPN 150 defensive end Elijah Daniel (Avon, Ind./Avon) remains committed to Clemson.
In a telephone conversation Sunday night, Daniel said he is still verbally committed to Clemson while he considers other schools.
"I'm still committed to Clemson," Daniel said.
The No. 82 player in the ESPN 150 and No. 6 among defensive ends nationally, the four-star Daniel committed to Clemson while on a visit in June. Daniel said earlier this month he was wavering on that commitment.
Saturday, Daniel wrote on his Twitter, @elijahdaniel6 that "Im goin to decommit from clemson tigers today just don't feel lik its the right fit for me and family doesnt think either."
Daniel reiterated during a phone conversation that he is committed to Clemson but said he is still open to other programs.
"Kind of, but just solid right now [to Clemson]," Daniel said by phone when asked if he is looking at other options.
Daniel said he did not talk to the Clemson coaches last week but plans to call them sometime this week.
Arizona State, Florida, Indiana, Marshall, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State and Ole Miss are some of the other programs Daniel is considering. He was planning a visit to Florida earlier this month but the coaches asked him to move it until after the season.
