Commit Robinson to visit Bama, USC
By Max Olson
FORT WORTH, Texas -- ESPN 150 Texas defensive tackle commit A'Shawn Robinson (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington Heights) will take an official visit to Alabama next Saturday and plans to make an official visit to USC in December.
The longtime Texas pledge will take in Alabama's home game against Texas A&M.
"It's a good opportunity," Robinson said Saturday after Arlington Heights' 42-10 loss to Fort Worth Southwest. "I haven't really seen them play in that atmosphere in their hometown. I want to go see that."
Robinson will travel to Los Angeles after his season ends in December for a campus visit. While he does remain verbally committed to Texas, the 6-foot-5, 304-pound defensive tackle is still exploring his options.
"I'm just looking to compare other schools to Texas," he said.
Robinson took an official visit to Florida State earlier this fall and made an unofficial visit for Texas' home loss to West Virginia.
He informed the Longhorns coaches of his intentions to visit FSU and received their permission to take his official visits. He does plan to make his official visit to Austin for the team's banquet weekend along with the rest of his fellow UT pledges.
"For right now, I'm sticking with Texas," Robinson said. "For right now."
