ESPN150 DE Sawyer down to two schools
By Radi Nabulsi
ATHENS, Ga. -- In a trend that is becoming as common as hat ceremonies when picking schools, another ESPN 150 prospect took to Twitter this morning to announce he is nearing a decision. This time it was No. 42 Dante Sawyer (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) who told his followers to “stay tuned.” He spoke to DawgNation to explain what he meant.
“I am going to decide in the next two to three weeks,” Sawyer said, “I am not sure which one I am going to pick, but it is down to Alabama and Georgia.”
Sawyer said he does not plan to make a decision until his mother can visit one of the schools. So with the short time frame, where are they going to visit first?
“See that is the hard part,” Sawyer said, “We don’t know yet. My next visit will be with her. She definitely wants to get up there.
The nation’s No. 7 defensive end laughed when asked if they would visit both schools.
“That is a good question,” Sawyer said. After a slight pause he said, “Yeah she will probably visit both.”
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound junior said he has not picked either school and is still undecided. That is a continuation from when he visited Georgia for the annual G-Day scrimmage. Alabama led before that visit, but Georgia pulled even for Sawyer. When reached after the game, he indicated he had no method in place for choosing between the two schools.
"That is the million-dollar question." Sawyer said.
