Watch List OT adds Alabama offer
By Corey Dowlar
ESPN Watch List offensive tackle Mason Cole (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) thought he might be close.
There was no way to be sure, but going to Tuscaloosa, Ala., and getting an offer from the Crimson Tide would have really been something.
Sure enough, the good news this weekend came as a slight surprise.
"A little," he said. "I also kind of anticipated it going up there, though. It was truly exciting. I feel blessed."
And in terms of Alabama, it came from the best source possible.
In meeting with Cole, coach Nick Saban, one of college football's most iconic coaches, made the offer to the 2014 prospect.
"Coach Saban told me while I was meeting with him," Cole said. "It was really cool."
Alabama joins Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Mississippi, South Carolina, USF, Stanford, USC and West Virginia on Cole's list of teams that have offered Cole. The Crimson Tide, he says, means a lot to him.
"It is definitely significant," Cole said. "Definitely one of my favorite schools."
