More to come for Tide's Cooper
By Chris Low
MIAMI -- There were several talented true freshmen in the SEC this season, but it's hard to top what Alabama receiver Amari Cooper has done.
With a pair of touchdown catches in the Discover BCS National Championship Game, Cooper has 11 for the season, which breaks the Alabama school record. He also has 1,000 yards receiving for the season.
Keep in mind that he was slowed in preseason practice with a foot injury and split time with DeAndrew White the first month of the season. He has five of his touchdown catches in his last three games, and it's obvious that his best football is still to come.
When Alabama gets Chris Black healthy next season, the Cooper-Black tandem has a chance to be off-the-charts good.
