In his first game action since committing to the University of Alabama, cornerback Stephen Roberts (Opelika, Ala./Opelika) didn’t miss a beat. He finished with a handful of tackles, a pass breakup and an interception in his school’s spring game last Tuesday.

His account of the interception: “The [wide receiver] ran a 10-yard stop, and he slipped or something. The quarterback tried to throw it out of bounds, so I ran to the ball, dove and caught it before it went out of bounds.”

UA defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was on hand, along with a number of other coaches, to watch the Crimson Tide commitment. Smart sent him a message on Twitter after the game was over.
