TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama played its biggest game of the year on Saturday in the SEC championship. The 32-28 victory over Georgia sent the Crimson Tide to the BCS title game, where they will face Notre Dame.

It was a game that most Alabama fans and commitments wouldn’t want to miss, but for ESPN 100 defensive end Jonathan Allen (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge), he had no choice. He had a game of his own to play -- in the state semifinals.

“Actually, I didn’t get a chance to watch it, because my game was at 4 p.m. Saturday,” Allen said. “By the time I got on the bus, it was like the fourth quarter, so I was watching it live from my phone. It was a close game. I was really nervous, but I’m glad we got to pull it out.”
