The number of University of Alabama players on award watch lists continue to grow as eight more were named to either the Outland Trophy or Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists today.
Five Crimson Tide defenders made the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list, awarded annually to the nation's best defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club. Dee Milliner, C.J. Mosley, Robert Lester, Jesse Williams and Nico Johnson are part of the 81 nominees.
Barrett Jones will have the chance to repeat as Outland Trophy winner in 2012 after taking home the trophy last season for his play at left tackle. The 6-5, 302-pound Tennessee native, who switched from offensive tackle to center this offseason, will seek to become only the second player to win consecutive Outland Trophies. Nebraska's Dave Rimington, in 1981-82, is the only player to pull off the back-to-back wins.
