Virginia Tech running back J.C. Coleman will sit out the Hokies' season opener against No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Coleman, listed as questionable on the team's injury report with two sprained ankles, didn't travel with the team to Atlanta. The Hokies will now have to rely on two redshirt freshmen -- Trey Edmunds and Chris Mangus -- in the backfield against one of the best defenses in America.
