Is Stanford's recruiting class complete?

By Brent Sobleski

Stanford won't follow last year's Top 10 recruiting class with a similar class this year. The Cardinal currently has 12 commitments to the program with national signing day a week away. And 12 may be the final number for Stanford during this cycle.

"Stanford expected to sign 12 on Wed. Has one or two more (scholarships) available but will probably hold til next year," Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News tweeted.

The Cardinal has the numbers to put together a 14-recruit class if it chose to do so. Stanford, instead, is content to stay pat where it currently sits.

"...it's clear that Stanford's evaluation of many of (many interested) players didn't jibe with that of the recruiting services," Andy Drukarev of CardinalSportsReport.com wrote. "And given the limited spaces Stanford had in its 2013 class, that's probably not a bad thing for the Cardinal. Early returns are that the admissible talent pool for 2014 exceeds 2013, and having two additional scholarships should serve Stanford well."
