WR commit's role within OSU's offense

By Brent Sobleski

Brad Bournival of BuckeyeNation.com reported
Ohio State received an unexpected boost to its wide receiver corps Tuesday when JUCO recruit Corey Smith (Akron, Ohio/East Mississippi Community College) flipped from Mississippi State to the Buckeyes.

Ohio State has been searching far and wide to find play makers for Urban Meyer's offense, and Smith is a welcome addition.

“Where he fits in with Ohio State is he will be more of an outside receiver like Devin Smith, giving the Buckeyes the ability to move (Corey) Brown inside more as a slot guy," Scout.com's Bill Greene told Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch.

Smith's commitment doesn't simply fill a void within the Buckeyes' offense, it also sets the tone for Ohio State on the recruiting trail:

"...the fact that Meyer swiped this latest commitment from an SEC school has got to bring a few smiles to Buckeye land."
