Coley's pending decision, FSU or Miami?

By Brent Sobleski

Will it be Florida State, Miami or USF that will eventually land ESPN 150 wide receiver Stacy Coley (Oakland Park, Fla./Northwest)? All three are legitimate options for Coley according to Northeast Head Coach Donnell Bennett, but one stands above the others.

"And where Miami once was likely to get his signature, Florida State now appears to have pulled ahead of USF and is even with the Canes," Matt Shodell of CaneSport.com reported.

The recent turnover within Florida State's coach staff would seemingly strengthen Miami's chances of landing the wide receiver, especially with former Florida State quarterbacks coach James Coley being named Miami's new offensive coordinator. But that's not the case.

"I haven't seen him be swayed by the coaching moves yet," Bennett told Chad Simmons of Scout.com.

Florida State as a result has emerged as the clear favorite:

Corey Dowlar
NoleNation recruiting predictions: Stacy Coley
"One of Florida State's top targets on the offensive side of the ball from the very beginning, Coley would bolster an already deep group of wide receivers. The other contenders include Mississippi, Miami and USF. Coley is ranked as the No. 3 wide receiver in the country and is being recruited by Lawrence Dawsey.
Projection: Florida State.
Confidence: High."
