Will JC transfer star for Mississippi State?
By Vince Verhei
The most improved player for the Mississippi State Bulldogs this spring might have been wide receiver Jeremy Chappelle. John Talty of The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., reports that the transfer from Tyler Junior College was slow to pick up the Bulldogs playbook when spring drills opened, but in later drills, "Chappelle ran crisp routes, had a few nice catches and looked comfortable."
“After every practice we get grades and since the first practice my grades have been going up every day,” Chappelle said. “I’ve just been trying to learn the system. Once I get comfortable in the system I can really play my game and play fast.”
"Chappelle opened the spring No. 2 on the depth chart behind Robert Johnson, and will likely stay that way," Talty writes. "There will be plenty of opportunities to play, though, with a young, inexperienced group at receiver."
