Texas AD talks Mack Brown's hot seat
By Vince Verhei
In the past three years, the Texas Longhorns have won 22 games, they're worst three-year run since 1995-97, the end of the John Mackovic era. Does that mean the end of the Mack Brown era is near?
Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds tells Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News that he has not issued an ultimatum to his coach, but he says that Brown knows improvement is needed: "Mack Brown knows what he has to do."
“If you get beat a little bit, it's a gut-burn,” Dodds said. “But the guys with the gut-burn are the guys who come back.”
Dodds' tenure at Texas is nearing its end, and it's important to him that the football program gets turned around -- soon.
“I didn't work 32 years to not leave this the right way,” Dodds said.
