Josh Casher's future with Auburn
By Brent Sobleski
Josh Casher (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's Episcopal) is one of the nation's top center recruits. He also verbally committed to the Auburn Tigers this past weekend. Casher may be Auburn's future at the pivot, or he could change positions based on the talent already on the team's roster.
"Casher will have competition when he arrives on campus, but both (Devonte) Danzey and (Alex) Kozan could play guard if Casher steps on campus and makes a big impression," Justin Hokanson of AuburnSports.com wrote. "Matter of fact, so can Casher. The Tigers will have impressive versatility at the guard/center position. The center position hasn't always been friendly to Auburn regarding depth, but come next season, that position may be deeper than it's been in years."
Reese Dismukes is expected to start at center this season and next before the three aforementioned candidates get an opportunity to compete with one another to become his replacement. Casher will likely redshirt as a freshman before getting the opportunity to start in 2015. Danzey will be a senior and Kozan a junior at that time. It could be 2016 before Casher officially takes over at center for Auburn -- if he ever does.
