New school intrigues ESPN WL RB Chubb
By Brent Sobleski
UPDATE: ESPN Watch List running back Nick Chubb (Cedartown, Ga./Cedartown) is considered a Georgia lean, but another SEC team has come into the picture and become a legitimate option for Chubb.
“I had been focusing on Auburn, Georgia and Florida, but with South Carolina deciding to show me some interest now, I am going to check them out,” Chubb told Kipp Adams of DawgNation.com. “I just didn't want to exclude them.
“I haven't been down there yet, but obviously they're worth my time and I've always had a interest in them. I'll be down there this Saturday.”
Running back Nick Chubb is close to making a verbal commitment. Four SEC teams and Texas round out his top five. One should receive his pledge very soon.
"I will be committing to someone soon," Chubb told Chad Simmons of Scout.com. "I am pretty sure I will commit between now and June. I just want to make my decision and get it over with."
Chubb listed Georgia as his top option, which makes the Bulldogs the frontrunner to land his commitment. Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and Texas are all playing catch up at this point in the process.
"UGA is the in-state school, they run an offense like we do in high school, and I feel real comfortable there," Chubb said.
