Nevada's options to replace coordinator
By Brent Sobleski
The offseason edition of musical chairs continues as coaches make last minute jumps to different programs just prior to spring practice beginning.
Nevada was the latest to lose one of its coordinators to a bigger program. Special teams coordinator Jeff Genyk left Reno to serve in the same capacity for Wisconsin. New Nevada head coach Brian Polian must quickly find a replacement. Three names should be under consideration.
"With the unexpected departure of Jeff Genyk to Wisconsin, it will be interesting to see if Brian Polian targets UMASS tight ends/recruiting coordinator Shane Waldron, former Iowa running backs/special teams coach Lester Erb, or former Tennessee tight ends/special teams coordinator Charlie Coiner," Pete Roussell of CoachingSearch.com wrote.
Waldron may have the edge in this search having coached with Polian at Notre Dame.
