Michael Dyer and Tennessee?

By Brent Sobleski

The name Michael Dyer has resurfaced after being dismissed from both Auburn and Arkansas State last year. The talented yet troubled running back is set to graduate from Arkansas Baptist in the spring. He will then be able to take advantage of the NCAA's graduate transfer rule in which he can play without sitting out a year if he does intend to continue his football career.

Tennessee is in search of a running back, but Knoxville is one place Dyer probably won't be welcomed.

"...Tennessee can’t be the site of his third college try, not if its coach (Butch Jones) wants to keep his words and actions in sync; not unless he wants to lay the foundation for his program on hypocrisy, rather than character," John Adams of GoVolsXtra.com wrote.

It's unknown how much interest Dyer will have from programs or if he'll even be able to finish his football career at another institution. His talent will certainly intrigue a team or two. Whether a team actually accepts a transfer is a tough sell for any coach.
