Key to potential Washington turnaround

By Vince Verhei

Keith Price's numbers as a sophomore: 67 percent completion rate, 8.5 yards per pass, 33 touchdowns, 11 interceptions. As a junior: 61 percent completion rate, 6.3 yards per pass, 19 touchdowns, 13 interceptions. Not coincidentally, the Huskies fell from 25th in scoring offense in 2011 to 90th in 2012. Price's decline also coincided with the departure of offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier (who went on to win a national championship at Alabama), but ESPN.com Pac-12 blogger Ted Miller says a key Washington coaching hire could start a big turnaround for Price and the Huskies:

Steve Sarkisian's best offseason move?
"The good news is Sarkisian hired Marques Tuiasosopo in the offseason and made him quarterbacks coach. I'm sure Tuiasosopo, a Huskies quarterback legend who won the program's last Rose Bowl, and Sarkisian will be double-teaming Price this spring, aiming to rebuild his confidence and restore him to the previously unflappable guy from 2011. If that happens, the Huskies are going to be a top-25 team."
