UH loses DE to Texas
By Brent Sobleski
Houston will to adjust without one of its top defensive lineman next year. Zeke Riser was granted his release from the program according to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle. Texas is Riser's top transfer option.
"A person close to the UH program said Riser will walk-on at Texas next season," Duarte reported.
Riser will have to sit out next year due to NCAA transfer rules. The redshirt sophomore started 16 games the last two years for Houston and may be able to provide depth along Texas' defensive front.
Sophomore Eric Braswell will start next year as one of the Cougars' defensive ends. Freshman Desmond Pulliam and sophomore Efrem Oliphant will compete to fill the void left by Riser. JUCO recruit Michael Jolivet (Beaumont, Texas/Navarro College) will be in the mix to potentially start as well.
