Michigan State linebacker Denicos Allen will miss spring practice due to a foot injury which required surgery. Allen is expected back for fall camp, but his absence creates an opportunity within the defense for former safety Jairus Jones. Michigan State's coaching staff moved Jones to linebacker to fill the void left by Allen. Jones isn't expected to unseat Allen as a starting linebacker, but he could fill a niche within the defense during the season.
