Virginia Tech in the Big Ten?

If and when the Big Ten moves to 16 teams, the names most commonly thrown about include Georgia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and Duke. A reader in ESPN.com Big Ten blogger Adam Rittenberg's mailbag, though, suggests the Virginia Tech Hokies as a possible expansion target. The school doesn't have AAU status, but it would offer the conference a chance to expand its footprint without stretching too thin geographically. Rittenberg says it makes some sense, but he sees the Hokies moving to a different conference:
