USC's pitch to No. 1 LB falls short

The nation's No. 1 outside linebacker recruit, Matthew Thomas (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington), is considered a Miami lean. USC has come into the picture late in the process. Thomas has some interest, but the Trojans aren't positioned well to land the linebacker.
